WHY IS FLEA AND TICK PREVENTIVES REQUIRED?

Fleas and ticks can cause illnesses, allergic reactions, and irritations to pets and owners. Some fleas and ticks can carry diseases.

Fleas and ticks can be found anywhere outside, even in the grass. Administering preventive treatments to pets will keep these pests away. This will provide peace of mind to both the pet owner and the caregiver, ensuring that the dog will not bring any fleas or ticks into the home.

Flea and tick preventives are mandatory, it is not optional.

do owners get updates from boarding, drop-in visits, or walks?

Owners will receive an update after each walk and drop-in visit. Each update will include photos of your furry friend and a map of where we went.

Owners will get three to four daily updates with photos for boarding to reassure them of how their pet is doing.

what should owner(s) bring during their pet’s stay?

Owners should bring dog food, poop bags, a harness, a leash, treats, and any medication(s). They should bring crates if applicable.

Why should the owner(s) bring their own dog food during boarding?

It is the owner’s responsibility to provide their pet's food and treats. Some pets have allergies or may be picky eaters. Also, transitioning to different foods can cause stomach aches, so bringing their own food will help avoid this.

how is food DISTRIBUTED between the dogs during boarding?

The dogs are separated into two different areas during feeding time to prevent resource guarding and food aggression. This ensures that both parties have their fill.

how often do the dogs get potty breaks during their stay?

The dogs get four or more walks each day. Normally, there's a morning walk, one in the afternoon, another in the mid-afternoon, and a final potty break right before bed. The length of the walks varies from half an hour to an hour, depending on the dog's activity level. We accommodate low-energy dogs too.

how do you feel about crates? do we need to supply our own crate?

I believe that crates should only be used with positive reinforcement. Crates are only being used to give a safe space for the dog.

Crates should be provided by the owner due to various sizes of dog(s) arriving and departing.

If you have any questions or concerns about crates, then we can discuss this further in person.

when is payment due?

Payment is due on the same day as drop-off(s) for boarding and walks.
